AlphaMED is a specialist UK and Hong Kong medicine admissions advisory. UCAT, personal statements, school selection, interviews. Every mentor on our team is a current medical student.
AlphaMED was founded in 2022 by 2 international applicants who had just been through UK and Hong Kong medicine admissions in parallel. We built what we had needed and could not find: a medicine-only advisory, run by people still inside the system.
Applying to medical school is daunting. Resources are scattered across forums, old guides, and opaque consultancies. Most of what is published is outdated the year it goes to print. Families paying often well into five figures to generalist firms find themselves coached by alumni, not current applicants.
Our co-founders attended top local secondary schools in Hong Kong, completed A-Levels at Cardiff Sixth Form College, and applied to UK and Hong Kong medicine in parallel. We know both systems first-hand.
We built AlphaMED in response. Every mentor on our team is currently reading medicine at Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, UCL, or KCL. Our team includes direct admissions-panel experience. We hold a 93% offer rate across every completed cycle since founding.
Medicine admissions changes every cycle.
UCAT dropped Abstract Reasoning in 2025. UCAS restructured the personal statement into three questions the year before. Interview formats have moved on. School-specific weighting updates quietly. A mentor currently inside the system sees these shifts as they happen. A consultant who passed through 10 years ago is coaching to a different game.
Motivated students only.
Students who want this for themselves. Not students whose parents want it for them. Medicine is a long road, and we only take students who are motivated for the career, not the title. On the first call we ask the student directly: why medicine. If the answer is weak, we say so.
Beyond motivation: A-Level, IB, HKDSE, graduate-entry, reapplicants, gap-year students. UCAS and JUPAS/non-JUPAS pathways. UK-only, Hong Kong-only, or dual-track. Families who want specialist work, not generalist consultancy.
What we hold ourselves to.
An applicant's outcome matters more than our revenue. We match scope to the work the application actually needs. If a student is better served by a cheaper tier, we say so. We would rather decline a student than accept a fee we cannot justify.
We teach students the skills and confidence to handle medical school admissions themselves. The goal is not to carry them through the application. It is to prepare them for what comes after the offer.
Every session, every draft, every shortlist is built to the student's profile, target schools, and stage of preparation. No templates, no one-size curriculum, no mentor rotation. One named mentor from first call to offer.
We publish our offer rate. We do not claim outcomes we cannot evidence. We stay out of work that would compromise admissions integrity.
