MBBS and MBChB
MBBS and MBChB are two names for the UK medical degree. Which one a doctor holds depends on the medical school.
Summary
- KCL awards an MBBS. Manchester awards an MBChB, which it spells out as Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
- The NHS list of courses also shows BMBS and MB BCh.
- Whatever the letters, a medical degree is normally five years long.
